2Quay B&B is situated outside the city centre of Amsterdam, however at a reasonable distance of it. You are on Dam square or Leidseplein within 15 minutes on bicycle, bus or tram.
For one, you don’t have to spend all day in the noise of the city. You start and end your day in one of the most beautiful and quiet areas of Amsterdam where contemporary architecture is leading, where extraordinary shops give the tone, where you have a great choice of restaurants and cafés and where you also don’t have to leave the area for a cultural event.
Limited equipment, so only simple take away meals. The common room / kitchen (30m2) is for common use for the guests. A place where you take breakfast in the morning and where you can enjoy a free coffee or tea. The kitchen is equipped with a microwave, a fridge, a dishwasher. There are also plates, cutlery, cups, etc. for your take-away meals.
2Quay B&B is not only situated in a unique quarter, it is also set in a unique townhouse for it has been individually designed. There is no other house like ours. In our B&B you will not find the mainstream
3 x 3 bedroom, but two spacious rooms; a suite/appartment of 45m2 on the canal and south side and a "common" room of 25m2 (bathroom and toilet not included in the square metres) behind the front at the streetside.
There is a busstop at 200 metres distance from our house. This bus 48 will take you directly to the central station stopping at the De Gooyer mill, the nautical museum (Scheepvaartmuseum), the main library (OBA) and the NEMO.
If you walk 10 minutes you will find a tramway stop for tram 10. This tram takes you to the Leidseplein, the heart of the city centre. The tram passes the Artis zoo, the tropical museum, the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh museum.
Near to tramway stop 10 you find the stop for tram 26 direction IJburg. If you want more architecture than the Eastern Docklands can provide you, then no doubt IJburg – the new extension of Amsterdam, is an interesting area to discover.
Unfortunately, we don’t have parkingspace for our guests. Parking your car in Amsterdam is costly, free parking an utopia. However, our area is one of the cheapest parkingzones. You pay 6 out of 7 days, sundays and festive days free parking.
Prices: € 2,40/hour or € 24,00/day.
There is another possibility. Amsterdam possesses 5 P+R parking-lots situated in the periphery.
Zeeburg P+R is near to our place.
If you want to make use of this parking-lot, then first drop off your luggage at our place, park your car at
P+R Zeeburg, then from there on take the tram 26 to Central Station in 10 minutes, from where you can explore the city. To get to our house from the carpark Zeeburg, get off at the first stop (Rietlandpark) – from there on it is 10 minutes to walk our place. That depends on the age of the children. Children < 12 may sleep on the parents room on folding beds. Two children on the Soetira room, only one in the Kalimantan suite.
We can lend you books, leaflets and maps about Amsterdam in general and the architecture of Amsterdam, the Eastern Docklands and IJburg in particular. Even better is to go to BAC (Borneo Architecture Centre) close to us, behind busstop 48 at 200m distance. It offers specific information on The Eastern Docklands. Wonderfull models are part of their collection.
Rooms are ready after 14:00 hrs, but it is always possible to drop off your luggage at our place in the morning.
On the day of departure you have to check out before noon. If your train or plane leave in the afternoon or evening, you can always leave your luggage in the B&B.
